Trying to find Sweet {Sweet Shot Tuesday}

Today I am feeling the pull the yearning if you will for normalcy again. Life has been so crazy. I even miss our off bad days in our homeschool how crazy is that!? But I do!! So bad!! I miss sitting around the table and arguing over math or whatever. heehee I miss the learning. I miss the just enjoying every second. I know I should I be soaking all these last couple days but the piles, the to-do lists, the goodbyes... they are sucking the life out of me. Out of my family. This end part isn't any fun at all.

Just being honest.

I am not having any fun. Our place was crowded with 5 of us in here to begin with. Insert tons of boxes, piles to walk around, little people to dodge, and it could probably pass as an Olympic sport in here. This whole getting dark at 5pm thing is so not helping matters. By 6pm I am so ready for the kids to go to bed and for me to be right behind them.

I am distraught that through our chaos here we haven't been able to do our Thanksgiving tree this year. I am sooooo bummed about this! It doesn't even feel like the Holiday is right around the corner. We have no plans for Thanksgiving and truthfully I'd be happy with Burger King at this stage of the game. I am praying that Christmas will feel more normal and exciting. I miss feeling excited.

I will try though to look at this picture from fall around my neck of the woods right now. It feels symbolic to me too though at the same time. The dew drops symbolize my tears on top of the beautifulness of all that this whole picture of the move really is.

Praying along our trip though to see some more beauty like this and praying if we see snow or a storm it will be off the roads and we all arrive safely! I can't believe this coming up to our last Sunday here!! Wow.

Max

This adorable little doggie belongs to my dad. He literally is man's best friend. He is a rescue doggie. My dad has had him for years now. What makes this guy extra special is he could seriously pass as a twin to a dog I had when I was little.

The coloring.

His demeanor.

Everything. He is a spitten image of Strider.

Max though, as you can tell by his facial coloring, is growing older. Truthfully, and sadly, Max probably won't be with us too much longer. He is showing a lot of signs of aging. This last week I took as many shot of this handsome guy as I could. I tried to capture every moment my children shared with Max too. I showed my dad some of the pictures and his response "It's good you are getting those." I told him I am in total denial that Max is getting too old. I refuse to believe this loveable pup who is everything to my dad could be leaving us soon. The sadness I know that we all will feel with his passing hurts my heart more than words could say.

Max is so much a part of the family as we are. He has us all wrapped around his finger. I hope he stays around for a long time and we continue to share great memories with him. He is very special.

Summer!!!

It's official it's here!!! So excited. So glorious to see the sun and have temps in the 70's even if for only 2 days.

Today I am calling no school review.

We are reading books.

Playing the Wii.

Veggin' on the porch and drinking lots of Strawberry Lemonade with slices of Watermelon.

Hello Summer!! We are SO glad you are here.

Sweet Shot Tuesday

Oh I almost completely spaced today was Tuesday! This weekend my husband had 3 days off only to come back to work 2 overnight shifts. To say I am a little off today would be an understatement.

This weekend we spent time at my dad's house. Helping with yard work and taking parts off of his old parts car for his "new" car he is restoring.

A '69 Firebird Convertible.

Oh yes it's totally awesome!!!

Inside his parts car though seemed to be a village of Yellow Jackets. Yes a village. Dad has cleared out most of them but I found a little guy and his lone nest residing on the ceiling of the car. I caught him "giving me the eye" and since he wasn't angrily buzzing around my head while I sat there I decided to snap a shot of this lone renegade taking up residence in the shade of the ceiling of my dad's parts car.

I totally recommending clicking on this little guy to see him bigger.

He is worth it.

It's ok I'll wait.

See. Isn't he cute!? *wink*

He never did leave his perch here even as we were banging around trying to get the gas tank off. He just sat there like he didn't have a care in the world. I liked him.

Strictly because he wasn't bothering me nor I him.

Sweet Shot Tuesday

Linking up again with Sweet Shot Tuesday.

I love these little legs and the fact it's been nice enough lately to enjoy some park time.

Oh the joys of Spring/Summer. Hoping to get a lot more of this in this year!!

Sweet Shot Tuesday

This is my first week linking up with Darcy over at My 3 Boybarians and her fun photography meme Sweet Shot Tuesday.

I took this shot late last week out in the mountains with my visiting father in law and family. This flower was just starting to peek out to be kissed by the sun. I personally have never seen this stage in the blooming process myself so I told myself I wasn't leaving until I captured it.
