Speak the Truth...

Why is it that people hide the struggles?

I mean the real nitty gritty ones?

Why is it only pictures and smiles and sugar coated struggle posts when life seems in line or growing "right?" Even if only on the outside. What is gained in the pretending or hiding?

Of course there is the "denial" of the truth underneath the surface but what good does ignoring that really do? There is the shame or guilt of "this can't really be my life." "It wasn't supposed to be this way." "People think this can't happen to us."

Thanks to sin in the world all the struggle and messiness of life happens to everyone. Not really sharing struggles, like really being honest about them, only keeps the dark voices in your head longer and all they do is grow. You need to bring light to those real moments because it is only in the light does Satan's grip on those lies really start to dimenish. Satan can't hear you battle inside your head. Only God is omniscient. Satan only loses his grip when we speak, out loud, the truth. That is when his grip smolders away like the wicked witch when water is thrown on her.

Are you sugar coating anything today?
Are you choosing not to identify that there is really an issue, even still?
Are you choosing to believe a lie that it'll fix itself without really healing the heart of a problem?

Stepping out and speaking it, no matter the hurt, loosens Satan's grip and cleans up under your rug. Don't start this week dancing in a making believe land that all is okay when you still feel such a disconnect on the inside. Break Satan's grasp today and remember who you are in Christ and what He has called you. The real life genuine peace that follows is better than any word can describe.

Maybe, just maybe, your real truth will be someone else's life line to break the cycle of "everything is so great" too and then they too can be on their way to really having that breakthrough so everything can really start to heal and be great. For the first time or again.

Keep sharing the smiles but safeguard the "look" you are hoping to get across. Progress should always be celebrated, but I pray the fairytale of "we're fixed" doesn't overshadow the continued hard work to defeat the author of lies. Share your real truth because he is always on the prowl and we always need to be vigilant and working hard to smolder his lies.

I'm praying for your real breakthrough today!
