Hey, What about me?

You ever have one of those moments where you are so wrapped up in your current situation and you aren't sure how the road at the end is going to unwind. You wrap yourself up in all the chatter around you and you cling to whatever hopeful words come your way.

A murmur in the hallway of praise.
A hopeful comment made by a superior.
Numbers in your favor.

Whatever it may be. You ask 100 times a day if anyone heard anything or what was said throughout the day that may lead to some indication of what the curves ahead may look like.

Then you are stopped dead in your tracks because God speaks.

He doesn't speak in a way of answers or unwinding. No he speaks and asks a single question.

That single question that leaves you going... "Oh, ouch. I'm sorry."

"Why are you always asking if ______________ said anything today? Why don't you ever ask them if I... ME... said anything to them today? What about me?"

You feel that 2x4 with me?

That was how I felt right in the middle of the end of worship after the sermon on Sunday. God gently reminded me that I need to stop being so concerned with the voices around me, around my husband, about our current limbo and to start asking my husband what God himself spoke to him each day. That my constant asking if anyone else has eluded to anything is only directing my husband's ears to those around him and not helping him to press in and tune in to what God is saying. Whether it be loud or a whisper my husband  and I only want to hear the direction God wants for us, not man.

Have you stopped to ask yourself today... What is God saying in all of this vs the chatter around you everywhere you go? Remember he can see what we can not and that includes vision beyond the worldly chatter of those around us. He can see it all and knows what's ahead.

His words should be our top goal to hear each day.

It may just be a soft whisper but he will tell you something each day. Maybe we need to remind ourselves not to talk/pray at God but to just sit in the silence to hear him. Be in awe of who we have the honor of being in the presence of. Not to rattle off our list in the speed of the moment but to just sit... just sit, and listen. He knows what we've repeated 100x already. Just to be still and know that no matter he will talk.

Are we going to be quiet enough to listen?

What is God saying to you today?
