That month was a whirlwind!
I thought for sure once co-op ended it was going to slow down. Boy was I wrong!
Our month consisted of being included in a friend's family May Day flowers tradition, 2 birthday parties, Father Daughter Prom, a Thirty One home party, and baseball games all in the first weekend. That craziness should have been my first clue it was going to be busy. That and my colorful planner that was fully marked up. ;)
We also had the last couple weeks of our school year, all stars 6u baseball tryouts, youth groups, rain, rain, and more rain, 8u all star tryouts, and even wrapped up Mother's Day with watching a tornado start forming in our front yard. Yea... it was NUTS! Quite scary!
(This is when we noticed it was speeding up its rotation and tightening up. It's also when we ran to the center bathroom of our house for cover!)
(Once we realized it was moving quickly and touched down just slightly north of us the rain on the same window as above was nuts from the sheer wind.)
Of course we also added in running in puddles and the rain and a drive through town to see what flooding occurred.
We then had more baseball (where we could squeeze in games due to mentioned above historical rains!), another birthday party (for two boys at once), impromptu all evening outdoor play with the neighbors until it was way past bedtime. We had lost teeth, fun ways to wake up sister mornings, last science experiments with willing participants...
Then the awesome LAST DAY OF SCHOOL of course.
At which time we had one last baseball game, last dance practices, rehearsal, and the end of the year recital.
Followed by a long over due (8 years in the making) trip back to our home state; where our two oldest were born but don't even remember. Haha! The joys of 7 different roofs over our heads and 3 state moves in their lifetime. To where we spent the last week of the month visiting a Spanish mission, sisters and brothers, mom and step dad, father-in-law, 9 cousins (8 for the first time they remember), and ex-sister-in-law, first time ever family pictures with one side of the family, hospitals where the two oldest were born, roofs that used to cover our heads. Showing the kids our old high schools, places we used to hang out, and where we first met. A day at the zoo. Favorite places to eat. Swimming, fireworks, and a jujitsu practice. A date night. A road trip within our road trip and two national parks along the way.
So, here is to closing out a great month for the month ahead.
Hello, Summer and all God has in store for it!
