How do you come back from being sick?

2 days ago I got knocked on my tush. At first it was just being mom to a poor little girl who was vomiting in the hall before dance class.

Sorry real life here.

Not long after that my role switched from concerned mom to concerned wife as my husband then joined the ranks next to his daughter. Not long after that switched back to mom role as my oldest son followed suit. Then it was my turn.

Literally... bang... bang... bang...

The day before had been my youngest turn.

The night proved to be exceptional LONG and yesterday resulted in literally all 5 of us laying around on the living room floor. Napping off and on and flipping through the watch instantly on Netflix (we don't have TV). My husband, who never calls off work, had called in and it was nice having him here.

Today though is life back to normal. No one is feeling 100% but better than Wednesday night. The pounding in the head has gone away some and no one is fighting for the single bathroom we have. But through all of this I can't help but think of all that hasn't gotten done in the last day and in a half.

I am trying not to push my to-do list and fret over all that needs to be done and caught up on but it's hard not to.

So my question is when you are knocked off your "game" and your whole family does too how to you ease back into catching up?

Because truthfully all I want to do right now is take a nap. Food poisoning or 24 hour stomach bug... either way it was brutal on everyone. I need a week vacation just to feel back to normal again.

Looking for the beauty through this all

Take it easy. I got the stomach flu a few weeks ago and it took me a week to get my energy back. Each day, I'd progress a tad more from moving from being on my bed all day to the couch to getting up to do a couple things to actually making a meal.

Your body will let you know when it's ready to resume - even if that's not as fast as you'd prefer.
