Today is one of those days

Can I be completely honest and transparent for a second?

Thank you.

I'm sitting here watching both my kiddos do math individually but I'm upset. Not at them all entirely, we'll my Kindergartener is all over and drops his pencil every 5 seconds... On purpose. Grrr. Why can't he just do the work in front of him that I know he can do quickly? I know he's 5 and a boy. There's my answer. Haha.

The other upset issue is I'm mad at me. I'm upset at my attitude, I'm upset that I'm not losing any weight... Oh I need to soooo bad... I'm upset at just being upset. My hardwood floors never stay clean, I can not catch up on laundry at all, I feel like I'm failing in everything actually. If I can be completely transparent. I've been trying to find the joy in our everyday but when I look around all I see is someone who can't keep up with anything and piles all over. We took our spring break early for my daughters birthday and to catch up. Think that happened?

Not even close.

We aren't getting through our lessons like I've wanted to. Not because of struggles just the struggle of actually getting through our day. Can I add that the nicer weather sparks the spring cleaning drive in me and I am no help to the antsy ness of my children? Then mommy guilt slips in and yep, the vicious cycle stays in full swing.

We aren't behind tons but we are behind nonetheless. A trip is coming up for my daughter in May and we were hoping to be close to done. I'm not sure that'll happen.

After a shower, lunch, and a very long apology to my kids maybe the rest of the day will go better now. It's gorgeous out so maybe we'll leave the pages behind and head out once my littlest guy wakes up and clear all of our heads.

Gotta love having one of those days.

In GA we have 365 days to complete our school year. If it's the same in your state, then, actually you aren't behind. You are just using more of your days to complete your requirements than maybe you think you should. It's a matter of perspective. Keep your chin up...it's going to be okay in the end. We ALL have days like this! Feeling behind will only bog you down. Today is the day to make the most of your time...sometimes it's a day for schoolwork, others are to enjoy the freedom you have in learning outside of the books. They all educate us in some form and fashion.
Much love and understanding where you are,
Janet
