Settling In

Yes here I sit. In our new apartment. In our new state. We made it! If you could see me you would crack up. On the floor, a box to hold my keyboard, my iMac on the floor, and my moving ever so slightly so the sun doesn't hit me in the eyes. Why yes my desk is set up already, in this new place we are to call home, but it is full of papers and books coming out of boxes.

Oh the boxes.

Or should I say oh the big things. The big things that got left behind on this new adventure of ours. The adventure that hit the road last Saturday (the 19th) after a tear-filled beginning the night before. Oh man was it rough!! 8 hours of loading our little trailer, truck, and van that were bringing our lives in boxes over mountains and through 8 states.

8 states... 4 days of heavy driving... 700 miles added to the trip due to weather.

We made it though with mostly all of our things intact. We only took 2 hours to unload everything into a wonderful new apartment. The Lord's mercies and provisions through this all has been overwhelming to say the least, and because of just those we know he will provide seating and such of all that we had to leave behind. Yep, we have nothing to sit on or eat on, or nada. Just beds and desks. heehee We have been bustling here and there since arriving in our new state. Although the sun shines more temps right now are not that different than what we came from.

Our hearts of heavy with faces of our family and friends we had to leave behind, but they know (and so do we) that this is just a turn in our script that God has written out for our lives. While we are thankful for any chance we can get to physically see their shining faces again we are anxiously awaiting the massive party we will all have together for eternity!

So very much has taken place in the time leading up to our departure a little over a week ago. I am not sure I have time to get into all of it right now. But I want to so bad. It's full of surprises, tears, laughter, and love. A beautiful time written by the Creator himself. Not one that I thought was coming or going to take place, but that is the joy of having God write my story and not I, myself. I am so blessed to have been chosen to take part in it.

As our day here on our new side of the world (still not used to our time difference) draws near to the end I better wrap this up and get dinner going so it is ready once my dashing husband returns from his first day of his new job. Boxes to unpack, and preparing for an errand we need to run after dinner all need to be taken care of as well.

The sun is shining and the air is crisp.

God is so good and I still can't believe that he chose us to have this adventure. We are so grateful!!

I feel for you unpacking and arranging all your stuff...I've moved my share of times and that part of it sure isn't too wonderful. haha!

I'm so anxious to hear how things unfold. How do you like the city? Is there a lot of traffic? What exactly is the time difference? How is the new job? I'm suprised the weather isn't warmer right now. Oh - details - details! So glad you got there safely!
