Where I continue to ramble

The end is in sight!

The end of the month that is. Thank goodness!!

In the process of all the madness that seems to be this month I have been able to get all but one book for school next year, and just today I wrote up our first week's lesson plans. To say our plate is full would be an understatement. I'm nervous.

How do any of you homeschooling families that join co-ops schedule your school weeks? 4 day weeks? 5 day weeks? I am racking my brain on how to set it all up to be effective this next year. We have a lot of curriculum to cover.

See...

That is just the first week for one child lol. I bought the $1 planner from Target to just rough draft our lesson plans before I entered them in to my Well Planned Day Planner... Just to get a rough estimate of our week.

I have a big post in the works with our curriculum picks and description of some ideas we are thinking of right now for 2011-2012. If I can manage the schedule I think a lot of learning and fun will be had. We have all of our books but one already, and the kids are itchin' to get started. I am thinking though after the nuts of a month July has been I may need a mental break in August. We'll have to wait to see.

Hmmmm...What else has been happening lately?

*My baby boy turned 2 on Monday. He loves "WeeOooWeeOoo's" (I know the cake is not the nicest in detail but it's all we could do with running out of blk gel frosting) :-/

*My husband and I got to go on a date for the first time in over a year and a half. Yes it's been that long. Sad huh!? Time and money the two biggest factors as to why. Still sad though. We had a good time though. We got to see Sugarland in concert with 4 other couples from church.

*My first wedding shoot is about to take place. I'm nervous. They are confident. That's good right? ;)

*We are having a crazy weird summer weather wise.

*Our VBS week is about to start. Always crazy with one vehicle and VBS 20 miles from home.

*We have been seriously lacking some family down time. We are in desperate need of some reconnection. So needed!!

*We are a step closer to having my husband's resume finally ready to submit for a potential new job. This could be huge for our family and I'd be lying if I said I was ok with how long this has taken. The patience waiting game is killing me!!

*I have not picked up my camera nearly enough this summer and it's breaking my heart.

*My middle son is now 2 weeks into his first ever class at the community center. I honestly thought he would be so excited. However there have been tears now 2 weeks in a row asking to go home. I'm not sure what to do. :(

*My now 2 yr old will soon be moving to a race car toddler bed. I am bittersweet about this. However a super cool part... It's a hand-me-down bed. Not through family though. Nope. It's through our church!!! How cool is that!? A whole bunch of boys throughout our church have used this bed and have passed it down, and now it is our turn to use it. I can not tell you how excited I am about this! So grateful too.

I think that is about it. Although I am positive I am missing something. My head and heart are so full these days. I need a nice long, quiet, writing jam session soon.

First off, that firetruck cake is fantastic!
Looks like you have everything under control on the homeschool front.
I've just now ordered my daughter's curriculum today along with a couple of my son's subjects.
I've been searching and thinking about curriculum all summer but could not make my mind up!
You are way ahead of me, girl! :)

Have a great week!

My son turned two a couple of weeks ago and I smiled when I read your "WeeOooWeeOoos"! My son says the exact same thing whenever he spies a firetruck, police car, tow truck, etc. So adorable. You should've seen my son's BD cake - very dull indeed! Your cake gets a huge thumbs-up from me! Love the Oreo wheels!
