Jesus Calling
365 Devotions for Kids
By: Sarah Young
Devotions written as if Jesus is speaking directly to a child's heart.Based on her original Jesus Calling, this version has been adapted in a language and fashion that kids and tweens can relate to their everyday lives. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed He was saying to her through Scripture. Others were blessed as she shared her writings, until people all over the world were using her devotionals. They are written from Jesus’ point of view, thus the title Jesus Calling. It is Sarah’s fervent prayer that our Savior may bless readers, and now young readers, with His presence and His peace in ever deeper measure.
This book has easily become one of the most favorite books in the house. My kids ask for it every night. The thing is this book isn't just for kids. Oh no! I firmly believe it is just as much for the parents as it is for the kids. There have been nights when the devotion has hit me like a ton of bricks. I love it!
It is beautifully written. The vibrant colors are awesome and we love love love that at the end each night it gives you a verse to "read on your own". The conversation each night brings up between my children and my husband and I is wonderful. You can almost see in their eyes their love for the Lord grow with every word on the page. I love this time of day with my kids.
Please if you are looking to start something with your kids this year and are wanting to grow in the Lord with them this is the book for you! You will love it, and if your children are anything like mine they will ask if they can keep on reading after each day is done. This truly is a fabulous book and truly an answer to prayer on a great devotional to do with your children. I highly recommend this book!
You will love it too!
