A first this weekend.

This weekend my daughter went on her very first ever sleepover. She is 7 and this is the first time she has ever been asked. The countdown started the day I told her about it, and the excitement was full blown. With that came tears throughout the week of "What if I miss you?" "But I won't be able to see you in the morning." All things we talked through, hugged and came up with solutions to help. We tackled the not being able to see us when she woke up with her taking a family picture with her. She loved it!

We picked her up at Church yesterday full of tears.

Not because she missed us or was happy to see us, but because she thought she had lost her Bible. Sobbing... can hardly form words crying. She was so distraught. It broke my heart.

Friends at church told her that they would find it. The family she stayed with said it might be at their house still. We could go back and look. Some told her maybe a college student would find it and it might be the first time they ever hear the Gospel (our church meets at a local college). One dear sweet friend even asked to pray with her for her Bible. She was so touched that a 7 year old was so upset at losing her Bible she wanted to pray with her and offer comfort. How awesome is that!!?? I gotta tell you that I LOVE our church and church family!!

As we were walking out with our friends who our daughter had stayed with we made it to the parking lot to see her husband come pulling up. Out of the truck he comes carrying... Our daughter's Bible bag with her Bible inside!!!!

HE TOTALLY SAVED THE DAY!!!

It was fabulous!!! My daughter went back inside church (after many thank you's) to find our friend who prayed with her and showed her that it was found.

God most certainly had answered their prayers!

On the way home we got to hear... through massive smiles... all the excitement of her first sleepover.

*Dress Up

*Making Cookies

*Playing Games

*Watching the New Tinker Bell Movie

*Painting of toes and nails
(and the great design her friends mom made on her toes and details of how we can recreate it)

And many more awesomely fun (is awesomely a word?? lol it is now)

It was a great night and our friends took such great care of her. All of the girls seemed to have a blast.

Were we missed???? In her response..."No not really. I had a ton of fun!"

LOL That's good kiddo.

It was a beautiful bittersweet first. One of which is now being asked if we can do it here at our place.... soon! :) We will most definitely have to plan one.

Our little girl is growing up. Making great friends and loving life. I am so happy for her and sad to watch her grow so fast. But God is strong in her and her LOVE for him and his word astounds me everyday. I am so thankful they found her Bible and so touched at her reaction to thinking she had lost it.

She is one special little girl! xoxoxo

Oh, yes! They grow up all too quick. My daughter just got her permit, so I'm going through that stage with her. Yikes!
