Tonight though I am going to attempt something school related... Wish me luck!
This week we have had some fun in school... History in particular.
As I had mentioned a while back we had been talking about Cuneiform. So to see how easy (or difficult) it would be to write in this form of writing I thought it would be a lot of fun to go through "the process" the Sumerians would have had to go through just to document something.
So...
We made the dough {we used the baker's clay recipe}
We got everything ready
and got to work.
Then we baked it and let it cool
Then we thought painting it would be cool to give it more of a red clay kind of look
Viola! It's done!
We all had a lot of fun with this project this week. My daughter thinks that Cuneiform is 100x easier to write in then Hieroglyphics, but when asked she would much rather carry a scroll around than this tablet! lol Making a scroll is one of the next items on our to-do lists along with making a model of the Nile and mummifying a chicken. :) {and some other fun things as well}
How about you? Any fun projects gracing your homeschool or home this lately???
School has been going great! 7 weeks in homeschooling independently and we LOVE it! The last 2 years have been so stressful and unfun {I realize that isn't really a word but it's the best I got lol} through the virtual academy. It is so refreshing being able to do what we like to do when we want to, and really being able to explore what we are learning.
Homeschooling Rocks! Just in case you were wondering! lol

LOVE, love, love this idea! We studied Sumerians a couple weeks ago. Jacob would have loved this. Maybe we should back up a bit and do a review and borrow your great idea. :)
I like the changes you've made to your blog. It looks very nice.
:) Thanks Marissa on both accounts... The blog though I have so much more I want to do, but it's a time thing. LOL
Oh you totally should do it. It didn't take long at all, and we had so much fun!! There was still so much dough/clay left over that you could make many different things. :) I'd love to see what you guys do if you do it. :)
What an awesome project! That looks so cool! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Awww thanks Joy and thanks for stopping by here too. :)
