Oh yes we love antiques... Vintage... Oh yes!
A couple years back my dad gave us an old fish basket. We loved this basket but honestly had no idea what to do with it. It has journeyed all over our apartment trying to find it's real purpose in life. Sadly though it never did. It has collected odds and ends and dust during it's travels. It has got kicked over, bumped, and set in corners and forgotten about too many times to count.
Until that is this month.
Oh it loves it's new job and truth be told we do too!!
I have been so tired of having no place to keep diapers, pull ups, and wipes. Sure they have been kept under the beds and crib. On a shelf. In a open faced basket and so forth. The area they were always stored in always looked so disorganized and unpleasing to the eye. It drove me bonkers! So I finally decided "Hey, I wonder if this old fish basket could hold all we need and still be in a convenient location with a clean look in our living room?"
Oh does it and then some!! It is awesome and it does exactly what I have been looking for. It sits nicely on top of our old trunk. The kids can easily reach in and grab a pull up when asked or needed. It's PERFECT! It has these adorable little wooden fish hanging on the side. Every time I look at it, which is many times during the day, it reminds of of the story of Jesus feeding the Five Thousand with the 2 little fish and 5 loaves of bread. Now if I could just get Jesus to multiply the diapers on the inside to cover for five thousand or so more diaper changes I would be golden!!
Ha wouldn't that be lovely!!??
So until that dream comes true I will continue to love my newest re-purposed item in my household.
Do you love re-purposing items in your household or have one item you just absolutely love?? Please share I'd love to know!!
I am thinking maybe we can make this a weekly thing. Every Saturday we share one re-purposed item from our household we just love. Maybe it will be an item someone else can gain some inspiration from. What do you think?
